✨ What a beautiful milestone for our community! On Thursday, we celebrated the grand opening of Mi Centro at Pierce College Fort Steilacoom, a welcoming space dedicated to supporting, empowering, and connecting Latino and Indigenous students, families, and community members through education, culture, services, and the arts.

When we create spaces where students and families feel seen, supported, and connected, we help transform someone else’s dream into their reality. Mi Centro is a powerful example of what can happen when community partnerships turn dreams into reality!

We’re proud to welcome Mi Centro as the first satellite location serving our Latinx students and their families on the Pierce College campus. Here’s to building connections, creating opportunities, and helping our communities learn, grow, and thrive together!

Join us at Pierce College Fort Steilacoom and Puyallup for a live reading of the U.S. Constitution as we read the document aloud in its entirety. Everyone will have the opportunity to volunteer to read a section. Free food and voter resources will be available!

Did you know that Pierce College’s first college club was DECA?

DECA was a student organization that prepared emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management. Through hands-on experiences, leadership development, competitions, and networking opportunities, DECA helped students build real-world skills and confidence as they prepare for their future careers.

Though DECA doesn't exist at Pierce College anymore, students can still find those same hands-on experiences through our Student Life clubs and organizations, and our career center!

🦉 Whooo’s that on campus?

We recently spotted a Barred Owl making itself right at home on the Pierce College Puyallup campus, and we’re owl ears! Keep your eyes peeled for this feathered friend, you never know when an owl encounter might fly your way. We’re owl-struck by these sightings and think they’re something to give a hoot about!

🎨 Come check out the Pierce College District Employee Art Exhibit at Lakewood City Hall! 👀

Join us at City Hall on Oct. 19 to enjoy the creative work of Pierce College employees at the Employee Art Reception from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m.

The exhibit showcases a variety of art styles and materials.

The artwork will be on display at City Hall until Dec. 30.

We look forward to seeing you!
