The Henry County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. chartered on December 4, 2004 and immediately began the work of providing public service to Henry County, Georgia. Our service area encompasses the incorporated cities of Hampton, Locust Grove, McDonough, and Stockbridge as well as unincorporated portions of the county. is a private, non-profit organization whose purpose is to p

rovide assistance and support through established programs in local communities throughout the world. Founded on January 13, 1913 by twenty-two collegiate women at Howard University, the Sorority is currently a sisterhood of more than 200,000 predominately black college educated women. This includes over 900 chapters located in the United State, England, Japan (Tokyo and Okinowa), Germany, the Virgin Islands, Bermuda, the Bahamas, and the Republic of Korea. The major programs of the sorority are based upon the organization's Five Point Programmatic Thrust: Economic Development, Physical and Mental Health, Educational Development, Political Awareness and Involvement, and International Awareness and Involvement. We were honored to see two of our very own Sorors serve in the Color Guard, Second Vice President Denise Gaines Edmond and Soror Vivian Key. Their service represents a commitment that extends beyond our sisterhood, to our country and to something greater than ourselves.

More than 8,000 members of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated gathered in Atlanta for our historic 50th Southern Regional Conference, celebrating a century of sisterhood, service, social action and impact across the Southern Region.

We came together to learn, lead, uplift and inspire one another, rejuvenated by the power of our sisterhood and recommitted to the work that continues in our communities.

And yes, we made time for a little joy along the way! ❤️

The Henry County Alumnae Chapter was proud to be well represented as we celebrated where we’ve been, embraced the strength of standing together and looked ahead to the impact still to come.
