What a time! What a time! What a time to be a Wildcat!📣📣

We had a time on Saturday. Our 14th Annual Scholarship Jazz Brunch was a humongous success. Not only did we meet our $35,000 goal but exceeded it.
Many thanks and appreciation to you for your support and contributions for our beloved Alma Mater and our students.
We would remiss if we didn’t give a special shout out and thank you to the committee, our guest speaker- Mr. Kenneth Ward, our MC- Mr. Georgie Ward, Mr. Jarius Mann’s Lemere Barbeque & Catering, and Henry County Commission and Chair Carlotta Harrell.

We so appreciate all of you for your dedication, hard work and commitment, and it will not be forgotten.

We are almost at the finish line 🏁. So far $33,325.00 has been contributed from our $35,000 goal by you all and the DeKalb Alumni Chapter is so proud of all of you.
Just a disclaimer, we are SOLD OUT on tickets for the Scholarship Jazz Brunch. However we are still accepting donations through sponsorships and/or ads. Please check out our flyer with the QR code for further information on sponsorships.
Remember all proceeds are for our FVSU student scholarships so let’s make this the best fundraiser ever.

We are almost there. We have raised $27,250.00 thus far and counting. Meaning we have $7,750 to go to reach our $35,000 goal.

Our 14th Annual Scholarship Jazz Brunch is Saturday August 15 at 10am at the Henry County Heritage Community Center and we would love for you to join us.
Tickets are $75 and we also have various sponsorship levels for you to partake in. Remember all raised funds is for FVSU student scholarships and we want you to be a part of their success through your giving.

We’re getting closer Wildcats!!!📣📣

Our 14th Annual Scholarship Jazz Brunch is only a month and a week away, and so far we’re gaining on our $35,000 Final Goal on our financial meter. As you can see we’re currently at $25,325.00. That means we’re $9,675 away and it’s super exciting.

Thank you for the ones that contributed thus far and to the ones that haven’t yet you still have time.
As you know our Jazz Brunch is a fundraising event geared towards FVSU student scholarships, and we will need your help to make our students’ dreams come true. You can either purchase a ticket, become a sponsor or fund donations.

Our 14th Annual Scholarship Jazz Brunch is fast approaching and we’re excited for this year’s event so mark your calendars for Saturday, August 15 at 10AM at the Henry County Heritage Park Community Center, McDonough GA.
As you know this is a fundraising event for student scholarships where success is at their reach, and we’re calling all alumni, friends and supporters for your contributions either by purchasing a ticket, being a sponsor or fund donations.

Our goal this year is $35,000.00, and as you can see from our current Jazz Brunch Financial Meter we’re at $23,425.00 so we have $11,575 to go.

The DeKalb County Alumni Chapter sadly announced the passing of our chapter member, Ms. Rashida Davis. Ms. Davis was not only a proud FVSU Wildcat but also a member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.
Please continue to keep Ms. Davis family, friends and loved ones in prayer during this time of bereavement.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the transitioning of Rashida Davis of Albany, GA, she departed this life on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at her residence.

Funeral Services will be Thursday, July 2, 2026 at Union Missionary Baptist Church, 214 E Oglethorpe Blvd, Albany, GA at 11:00AM.

Public Viewing will be Wednesday, July 1, 2026 from 5:00PM-7:00PM at Union Missionary Baptist Church, 214 E Oglethorpe Blvd, Albany, GA.

Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers during this time of loss.
