A little friendly competition in our Radiological Sciences classes today! 🦽🏁

Our RadSci students participated in some wheelchair racing to practice safely maneuvering patients through doorways, thresholds and other obstacles as they prepare for the clinical environment. Students also worked through an ICU simulation using a portable X-ray machine, practicing how to bring in and set up the equipment before performing a simulated scan. 🩻

Congratulations to our very own Dr. Andrea Stevens, assistant teaching professor of microbiology and program director of our Undergraduate Clinical Research Training Program, on being named to the McKeesport Area School District Hall of Fame Class of 2026!

Andrea will join a class of 18 other distinguished McKeesport alumni being recognized for their accomplishments and contributions to their communities.

📢 Big News, Tiger Family! 🐯 We are thrilled to announce the official relaunch of the McKeesport High School Hall of Fame and extend a huge congratulations to the Class of 2026 inductees! 🌟

This incredible group of alumni was carefully selected for distinguishing themselves in their careers, as citizens, and through their overall lives. Their stories are a testament to the strong foundation provided by McKeesport High School and our community.

This year's induction includes a larger-than-normal group of 19 individuals since the last induction was held in 2019.

The McKeesport Hall of Fame was initiated in 1987 by the MHS Alumni & Friends Association with a mission that still guides us today:

🐅 To inspire current MHS students by sharing the aspirations and accomplishments of amazing graduates who walked these same halls.
🎖️ To recognize the extraordinary achievements of our alumni, whose successes are rooted in their school experiences.

These new inductees join a distinguished list of approximately 200 alumni who have already been selected for this honor.

Penn State’s AI Center of Excellence in Teaching and Learning has awarded 46 grants to faculty and faculty teams through the inaugural cycle of its instructional innovation grant programs.

Among the recipients are two of our very own Greater Allegheny faculty members: Dr. Jennifer Breese, associate professor of information technology, and Professor Lori Hepner, professor of integrative arts!💙

Dr. Breese received an AI in Instruction Microgrant for her project focused on building critical AI fluency through cybersecurity education, while Professor Hepner received a Microgrant for exploring hands-on approaches to teaching AI literacy in a general education arts course.

Recently, Penn State selected 16 faculty members for its 2026–27 AI-Aware Faculty Leaders program, a co-sponsored initiative of the AI Center of Excellence in Teaching and Learning and the Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence.

One of those faculty members is our very own Dr. Kuei-Nuan Lin, professor of mathematics! 💙 As part of this faculty-driven program, Dr. Lin and other selected faculty will help departments, colleges and campuses thoughtfully navigate the opportunities and challenges artificial intelligence presents for teaching and learning.

Tea or lemonade? 👀🍋🫖 We had both covered today!

Students stopped by the Student Community Center for two events focused on connection and wellness. They enjoyed some fresh-squeezed lemonade while learning more about counseling and wellness services, and grabbed a new mug from "Spill the Tea" with Housing and Food Services while meeting with campus partners over a cup of tea.

Students stopped by the Kelly Library today for a Trail Mix Bar before heading downstairs to meet our tutors and learn more about the resources available through the John H. Gruskin Student Success Center and The ACE Program (TRIO Student Support Services). 📚💙🥜

Not every healthcare career happens at the bedside. 🏥🔧

Penn State’s Biomedical Engineering Technology (BET) program prepares students for careers in Healthcare Technology Management through hands-on experience and coursework focused on technology, problem-solving and healthcare. BET graduates are working in HTM roles across the industry, including 43 Penn State BET graduates currently working at TRIMEDX.
