The Civic Symphony was hard at work all semester preparing not only for a live concert (see our earlier post for info on how to view the recording!) but also two final virtual ensembles! This has been quite a year, but Allegheny music students have continued to impress with their commitment, resilience, and talent! Congratulations to our Civic Symphony students!

The Allegheny College Music Department has wrapped up its semester and we have lots to show the world! Not only does the Civic Symphony have two more virtual ensembles (additional post to follow!), but below is a link to sign up for a webinar broadcast of ALL our instrumental ensemble's live performances. Save June 22 at 7pm EST for the webinar broadcast! Way to go Allegheny musicians!

And that's a wrap! Please enjoy our final video of the semester, with a brief intro by our director, Dr. Jennifer Dearden, who has a few words of thanks to those who helped make this semester possible! This is "Galop!" by Brian Balmages. (And yes, that is the correct spelling in the title!)

We are so pleased to present our next virtual ensemble, created by our fantastic student musicians and expertly engineered by Patrick Oliverio! Please enjoy this lovely version of Elgar's "Ni**od," arranged for string orchestra - the world needs more beauty these days, and we are honored to send this little bit of it out to you.

Our very first virtual ensemble - the piece was so much fun to learn and play and we are so excited to share it!

The Allegheny College Civic Symphony has been hard at work this semester! Our first virtual ensemble video will be posted very soon! Keep an eye out!

It is with great sadness that we formally announce the cancellation of our spring concert, scheduled for Saturday, April 25, due to the global pandemic. The healthy and safety of our students and our Meadville community is of paramount importance. We now look forward to resuming rehearsals in Fall 2020.
