The CMP Department welcomes our newest faculty members!

Drew Anderson is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Mathematics. He has a PhD in Mathematics from Baylor University and B.A in Mathematics and Computer Science from Taylor University. Outside of the classroom, Dr. Anderson enjoys geocaching, watching soccer, playing all types of music and instruments (piano, handbells, guitar, drums, etc.) and playing various board and strategy games. He is married to Melissa and is enjoying Pennsylvania for the first time.

Jacob Hauser is an Assistant Professor of Mathematics. He has a PhD in Mathematics from Lehigh University and a B.S in Mathematics from York College of Pennsylvania. Dr. Hauser taught mathematics at Saint Francis University last year. He is excited to be at Messiah where he can share both his passion for mathematics and his faith with students. He enjoys playing guitar, going to the movies, skateboarding, and snowboarding. He is most excited to become a father; he and his wife had their first child in September.

Aaron Mininger is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science. He has a PhD in Computer Science from University of Michigan, a M.S.E in Computer Science from University of Michigan, and a B.S., Computer Science from Grove City College, PA. Dr. Mininger’s research involved AI agents that learn tasks through human instruction. He is passionate about teaching, and after grad school he taught for two years at a Christian university in eastern Congo. Through that experience, he met his wife Yuri, who is a dedicated math teacher teaching in a nearby school district. He is excited to start a new chapter at Messiah University where he looks forward to serving students. Outside of the classroom, he enjoys biking, hiking, video and board games, and loves to cook.

Thank you Messiah University Physics Club for hosting the White Rocks Trail hike! The trailhead is only a 15-minute drive from campus, and the trail includes rock scrambling and beautiful hike with views of fall foliage.

Trail details: “It features a 1.3 mile climb from the base of the trail at Kuhn Road to where it intersects with the Appalachian National Scenic Trail just south of Center Point K**b on South Mountain. The blue-blazed trail is well marked as it meanders from the parking area to the base of the mountain.”
