Celebrating our first Engineers for Tomorrow cohort! 🎉⚙️

We had the chance to ask one of our Engineers for Tomorrow students about her experience in the program — here’s what she shared:

✨ HIGHLIGHT: “My highlight of being part of the Engineers for Tomorrow program was being able to compete against other underclassmen students at Messiah during the Intro to Engineering class with the balsa wood bridge project and edible scale while building lifelong friendships!”

💡ADVICE: “Any high schoolers interested in engineering should definitely join the Engineers for Tomorrow program next year! This program has helped me discover my passion for engineering, challenge me with my course load, helped me to meet amazing friends, and be able to get ahead on college credits so I will be a Sophomore in college next year!”

We’re so proud of everything this cohort accomplished and can’t wait to see what’s next for these future engineers!

Engineers for Tomorrow is a 20-credit cohort program for high school juniors and seniors interested in exploring a career in engineering. Students who are interested in pursuing participation in the Engineers for Tomorrow program are advised to complete the application for dual enrollment by June 22nd. Abi had the opportunity to present the work she and her Clean Accessible Water Solutions Collaboratory team have accomplished at the PA Section American Water Works Association 2026 Fresh Ideas Poster Contest and was awarded 2nd place!

We have a group traveling to South America! Our Streamlining Wind Turbines team will be installing and testing an energy monitoring system on wind turbines in Trujillo Peru. We're so proud of Mechanical Engineering graduate Caitlin Renner who was selected from the Class of 2026 to receive the Donald & Anna Zook Alumni Merit Award in recognition of her academic excellence, maturity of Christian faith and character, and contributions of service, leadership, and reconciliation.

It is a joy to see Caitlin honored for the incredible work she has completed during her time at Messiah and we admire her heart for service as she steps into her new Project Engineer role with Design Outreach, a faith-based nonprofit focused on alleviating global poverty.

Emma Rice, Civil Engineering graduate from the Class of 2026, has accepted a job with Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP!

In her new role as a design engineer, Emma will be part of the Transportation - Bridge Group in the Baltimore office.

Emma shared, "Serving on the Collaboratory's bridge team has prepared me not only professionally by giving me an understanding of bridge engineering and construction, but also personally to handle both successes and challenges with grace and discipline."

Congratulations Emma, your grace and discipline are inspiring — we wish you all the best as you step into your career!

Recent Mechanical Engineering grad Jed Davis is headed to Jacksonville, FL where he will be joining KLS Martin as an Individual Patient Solutions (IPS) Planning Engineer — where engineering meets life-changing medicine.

Jed wrote, "In this role, I will collaborate directly with surgeons to plan Craniomaxillofacial (CMF) surgical cases, designing patient-specific solutions for some of the most complex procedures in reconstructive surgery. My engineering education taught me more than technical skills — it taught me how to break down a complex problem and engineer a solution tailored to the individual. Through collaborative coursework and hands-on projects, I developed the ability to communicate solutions at a high level, a skill I’ll rely on every day working alongside surgical teams."
