Thank you to all the students, faculty, and industry professionals who joined us for Engineering Career Night!

The evening included workshops, a career expo, and mock interviews, giving students valuable opportunities to develop professional skills and connect with industry professionals to learn more about career paths in engineering.

We are grateful for the engineering company representatives who took the time to visit campus, share their expertise, and engage with our students. Thank you for your continued partnership and commitment to supporting the next generation of engineers!

Mechanical Engineering senior Caleb Naylor completed his internship this summer with Barton Associates, Inc. - one of the 58 engineering companies registered to attend our Engineering Career Night tomorrow!

During his internship, Caleb designed HVAC systems by routing ductwork, choosing equipment, surveying existing conditions of buildings, and coordinating with other disciplines to ensure smooth HVAC layouts in buildings. The highlight of his time with Barton Associates, Inc. was visiting buildings that are now completed to see how his work is impacting people every day.

Join us in Brubaker Auditorium from 5:30pm-7:00pm on Oct. 8th to talk with representatives from a variety of engineering companies (including Barton Associates, Inc.!) and learn more about job and internship opportunities you may be interested in pursuing.

If you missed the registration deadline for dinner, you are still welcome to come to all the other Career Night events!

Engineering Students - plan to attend our Oct. 8th Engineering Career Night to explore possibilities for future jobs and internships!

Mechanical Engineering senior Evan Sarkett spent his summer working as a Nuclear Operations Intern for Constellation Energy's Peach Bottom Clean Energy Center.

During his internship, he had the opportunity to:
-shadow equipment operators during reactor building, turbine building, and substation rounds
-perform data collection for equipment monitoring
-support operational activities
-shadow reactor operations
-observe routine operations and alarm response actions
-collaborate with Senior Licensed Operators and Engineers to modify equipment functionality for reliability and safety

Evan shared, "This Internship taught me that there are many options with an engineering degree that don't look like a traditional engineering job. I enjoyed the opportunity to be hands-on in an industrial setting and develop a preliminary understanding of how a nuclear power plant functions. I learned so much about the many layers of safety systems that go into keeping nuclear workers and the public safe and providing millions of homes with clean and reliable energy."
