Thank you to our Into the City Council for raising funds to provide our students with a “debriefing dinner” on our way home! This special time together allowed staff to review the trip with our students and encourage them in their follow up communications with our Charlotte alumni. (PS - if are you ever traveling through Natural Bridge, VA, we highly recommend the Pink Cadillac Diner!)

We then gathered at Westminster Presbyterian Church for lunch with an incredible group of Messiah alumni representing a wide range of careers and industries:

In the afternoon, we visited Piedmont, hosted by Stephen Monserrate ’97, Director of Human Resources, for an in-depth look at the airline industry.

We finished up the day with tour of downtown Charlotte with Jennifer Choy ’24, FX Global Markets Analyst at Bank of America.

A huge thank-you to all the alumni and professionals who generously shared their time, expertise, and advice with our students!

ITC Charlotte – Day 1!
What a fantastic start to our Into the City Charlotte experience!
We kicked off the day with a site visit to the corporate offices of Bojangles, where we heard from several top executives, connected with alum Joe Polek, and enjoyed a delicious meal straight from their test kitchen! 🍗
Next, we split into two groups for some incredible career connections. One group met with Michael Kovach ’15, Area Representative with Fellowship of Christian Athletes, while the other connected with Jennifer Choy ’24 at Bank of America and brothers Blake Martin ’18 and Garth Martin ’15 of Envoy Capital Advisors.
We wrapped up the day with an evening of networking at the beautiful Charlotte City Club, hosted by Jesse Weidemann ’11. It was a great opportunity to bring Messiah alumni and students together to build relationships, share experiences, and make connections that can last well beyond this trip!
One day down, and what a day it was! Stay tuned for more from ITC Charlotte!
