Reception
Friday, Oct. 2, 4:30pm
Glass Gallery, Climenhaga Building

The Galleries at Messiah would like to invite you to the opening reception of our Alumni Highlight in the Climenhaga Glass Gallery. Join us this Friday (10/2) at 4:30pm in the Climenhaga lobby for light refreshments and a chance to meet the artist.

Justin (Luke) Speers graduated from the Messiah College Studio Art program in 2012. Since graduating, he has worked as a Graphic Designer for Fox Chapel Publishing and Terrain, Anthropologie’s home and gardens brand. Currently, he is the Art Director of the leading playset manufacturer, King Swings.

As his passion and side endeavor, his artwork has appeared in group exhibits with Arcadia Gallery in New York, NY, The Reboli Center in Stony Brook, NY, The Art Gallery at Devon in Devon, PA, The Long’s Park Art Festival in Lancaster, PA and also featured in the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation’s magazine “Trend and Tradition.”
Growing up in Southeastern Pennsylvania, the Brandywine Tradition is a natural influence in both his artistic style and environmental experience. His inspiration comes from history, symbolism, the inferred meaning of objects and in Biblical studies.

Whether the subjects are small or grand, his painting process is focused on composing a moment that isolates the viewer to sense the subject's story.

🎶 Meet Our Choral Scholarship Recipients! 🎶

We’re excited to welcome three Messiah University students who are serving with us this year as Choral Scholarship Recipients (CSRs)! They share their musical gifts with us through both the Concert Choir and Chancel Choir, adding so much to our worship.

🎵 Deacon Shearer — Junior
🎵 Josiah Evans — Junior
🎵 Jackson Seivard — Sophomore

The Choral Scholarship program is supported through our Traditional Music Fund (490), which helps make opportunities like this possible. We’re grateful for these talented students and the ways they share their gifts with at Trinity!

Josiah will be with us through the fall semester before heading to Nashville in January to continue his studies in commercial music. We’ll welcome another student to the program when he leaves. Deacon and Jackson will be with us through the entire 2026-2027 school year.

We’re so glad you’re here, Deacon, Josiah, and Jackson!
