For more than three decades, Professor Dyan Mazurana has worked to understand war through the experiences of the people living through its consequences.

As Mazurana prepares for retirement in January 2027, The Fletcher School reflects on her scholarship, research, and 20+ years of service at Tufts University.

“One of the greatest privileges of my career has been learning directly from people whose lives have been profoundly shaped by war... the people who chose to talk with me and helped me understand what had happened to them, what they were living with afterward, what mattered most to them, and what justice, remedy, or repair might mean in their lives," says Mazurana.

Climate experts traveled from around the world to attend our annual Climate Policy Lab Symposium and Academy. ✈️🌎

The symposium's speakers tackled this year's theme: Raising Climate and Growth Ambitions in a Fragmenting World.

The academy that followed equipped practitioners from Brazil, India, South Africa, and beyond to assess climate policy gaps in their countries, with a particular focus on green industrialization policies.

Don’t go back to school simply to add another qualification. Go to broaden yourself. 🌎🎓

"My class cohort brought together a remarkable group: diplomats, military officers, journalists, lawyers, law-enforcement professionals, people from finance, government and the private sector, and professionals working in international organizations," says Paul A. Lucas.

Lucas credits his classmates from different countries, career backgrounds, and cultures for enriching his graduate school experience.

Orbán Anita recently met up with Dean Kelly Sims Gallagher at Climate Week NYC. 🗽🌎 Orban's career has taken her from diplomacy to business and back again.

Soon after graduating, Orban became ambassador-at-large for energy security before moving to the private sector, where she worked at Cheniere, Tellurian, and Vodafone. In 2026, she returned to public service as Hungary’s minister of foreign affairs.

A Fletcher education equips students with the skills needed to work across sectors and disciplines.

India's 2004 stock market crash shaped Rishad Sadikot's view of investing. 🇮🇳🌏 That perspective led him to Fletcher's Master of International Business (MIB) program, a career advising major institutions, and a return to Tufts University as chief investment officer.

“When I found out about The Fletcher School’s MIB program, I was so drawn to it. I love investing and I love business, but I also love the broader ecosystem in which they operate. I could get the best of both worlds at Fletcher,” says Sadikot.
