The Tisch College of Civic Life is a national leader in civic engagement that sets the standard for higher education's role in advancing the greater good.

The only university-wide college of its kind, the Jonathan M. Tisch College of Civic Life Tisch College is charged with a broad and vital mission: to prepare students for a lifetime of engagement in civic and democratic life, to study civic life and its intersections with public and private institutions, and to promote practices that strengthen civic life in the United States and around the world.

We combine education, research, and practice to serve as a hub for students, faculty, and community members who are committed to civic engagement and to its ability to change the world for the better.

We celebrated the closing of Tisch Summer Fellows on our Medford/Somerville campus earlier this month with a reception in the Barnum Hall lobby!

Thank you to our partners, students, and staff who stopped by to connect and learn more about the work our students did with local communities these past few weeks. We are grateful for your support of this program, and are already looking forward to next summer!

Hi!! We’re Nate and Sophia, Youth Programs Assistants at the Asian Community Development Corporation (ACDC). A C D C

This summer, we’ve supported ACDC’s Summer Leadership Academy, a program for high school-aged youth to develop their leadership skills by organizing a free community-centered kung fu film festival in Chinatown. This year marks the 20th anniversary of Films at the Gate (FATG), a tradition that preserves the cultural heritage of Chinatown while cultivating an imaginative vision of the neighborhood for and by Chinatown residents.

We’re so proud of the youth for all the hard work they’ve put into FATG and are so excited to celebrate 20 years of Chinese-language films under the stars.

FATG will take place Fri 8/14, Sat 8/15 and Sun 8/16 from 5:30-10pm in Chin Park, right by the Chinatown Gate. We’d love to see you there!!

📍 Tisch Summer Fellows on Beacon Hill!

Earlier this month, TSF students visited the State House for an alumni panel and tour of the building. In addition to the fellowship position, students attend events like this one, as well as skill-building workshops, roundtable discussions, and reflection sessions throughout the summer.
