“When you spend time reaching out to old friends or making new ones. When you spend time taking care of your community. That is not wasted time. That is the essential work that we all now have to engage in.”

Last week, Vivek Murthy, former Surgeon General of the United States and New York Times best-selling author of Together: The Healing Power of Human Connection in a Sometimes Lonely World, joined us for a Solomont Speaker Series conversation with Tufts University School of Medicine Dean Helen Boucher about loneliness as a public health issue. Together was chosen as this year’s selection for the Common Book Program, a partnership between Tufts University School of Medicine and Tisch College, for all incoming medical students.
