The trades are hot right now. Careers in the skilled trades and advanced manufacturing can offer strong salaries, job stability, hands-on work, and faster entry into the workforce without the high levels of student debt associated with traditional four-year degrees.
On Tuesday, May 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., DCCC's Advanced Technology Center on its Marple Campus will host Try a Trade Day. Whether you’re a high school student exploring career options or an adult considering a career change, you’ll have the chance to step into the lab, watch demonstrations, and meet professionals and instructors who work in these fields every day. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore careers in electrical work, automotive technology, carpentry, welding, CNC machining, HVAC, and more — all industries that face growing workforce demand across the region.
If you’ve ever wondered whether the trades might be the right fit for you, now’s your chance to find out firsthand. This event is free and no prior experience necessary! Register for Try a Trade Day on our dccc.edu/events page and be sure to watch Bob on the Job in our welding lab! https://www.fox29.com/video/1601975
