Aviation provides training for pilots from Private through ATP, Flight Instructor – Instrument and Multiengine. We also offer unique courses such as Conventional Gear, Aerobatics, Air Taxi, Complex Instruments, International Operations, and more. Our staff is highly motivated to not only give students the best training possible, but also to instill the same love of flying they experience. In addition to training Florida Tech students, we have a General Aviation Flight Services Division which provides flight training to the general public – offering courses from beginning through advanced. Our experienced instructors are well qualified to give instruction in all phases of flight training. We are able to accommodate busy schedules by providing ground training and flight instruction in the evenings and on weekends. Our full-service Maintenance Department is top-notch and the staff of certified A & P mechanics are highly trained in the maintenance of single and light twin-engine aircraft. We also have a full-service Pilot Shop for customer convenience in finding aviation supplies, clothing, and gifts.

Florida Tech Aviation was proud to be represented at the 2026 United Aviate Network Leadership Summit recently in Denver, Colorado!

College of Aeronautics (Florida Tech Aeronautics) Dean Rian Mehta () and Assistant Chief Instructor Nigel Moraes(Nigel Adam Moraes) joined fellow Aviate (Aviate) partner flight schools and regional airline representatives at United’s Flight Training Center. Here, they exchanged ideas and strengthened the pathway program to help our students prepare for airline careers.

As a neat highlight, they also had the opportunity to fly a brand-new Boeing 737 MAX simulator, courtesy of a few of our amazing alumni.

We’re grateful for opportunities like these that strengthen our relationship with industry leaders. ✈️🏅

The Piper Pilot 100i has become an industry leading single-engine training aircraft in recent years, and Florida Tech Aviation has 8 of these aircraft in the fleet. Congratulations to Certified Flight Instructor Daniel (Dan) Woods (Dan Woods) for earning ‘Instructor (IP) of the Quarter’ in the third quarter of 2026. Based on numerous elements, Dan earned this quarter’s award due to his positive and safety-focused habits at Florida Tech Aviation. Within the past quarter, Dan upgraded into a Stage-Check Examiner role, submitted numerous students for checks with a high pass-rate, and maintained a high safety record. Congratulations, Dan! 🎖️✈️

The FAA requires a minimum of 1,500 hours of flight time to qualify for the Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certification.

However, graduates of our flight degree programs can qualify for a restricted privileges ATP (R-ATP) certificate much earlier, at just 1,000 or 1,250 hours of flight time. Bachelor’s degree programs offered that have a “with flight” option are certified by the FAA to receive the above time reduction towards the ATP certificate.
