Congratulations to Dr. Craig Stewart on the continued impact of his collaborative research with Drs. Chrysanthe Preza and Stephanie Ivey in the Herff College of Engineering!

Their work was recently featured in this month’s University of Memphis Research + Innovation Newsletter. Using a mixed-methods approach, the team explored the impact of vertically integrated research experiences on students’ engineering identity, self-efficacy, skill development, and persistence.

This important research has already resulted in five peer-reviewed publications, with additional presentations forthcoming at the International Conference on Language and Social Psychology and the American Society for Engineering Education Conference. Dr. Stewart’s upcoming conference work also includes collaboration with Communication Studies PhD student Abena Asemanyi.

We are proud to celebrate this outstanding interdisciplinary scholarship and continued academic achievement
