The School of Business offers two degrees designed to prepare graduates for leadership in the business world. The Bachelor of Science degree, with majors in Accounting and Business Administration, allows students to focus their academic experience on specific career paths in the traditional areas of Accounting, Finance, Management, Management Information Systems, and Marketing as well as specializ
ed areas such as International Business, Sports Management, and Human Resources Management. In addition to our undergraduate programs offered during the day and night, the School of Business offers a Master of Business Administration degree. The Cohort MBA (CMBA) at CBU continues the quality education tradition associated with the undergraduate degree programs. Over the years, the MBA has proven itself as the most popular professional degree, especially valuable for those making the transition from non–business disciplines to business fields. The CBU CMBA has proven to be a valuable additional educational asset for working professionals who have completed other graduate business related programs as well. Normally, such persons are able to transfer some of their credits into the CBU CMBA program. If you have completed another graduate program, be sure to advise us of this fact so that we can evaluate your transcript for transfer credits. The Graduate Certificate in Project Management (GCPM) is designed for both newcomers who want to gain knowledge and understanding of project management or for project management professionals (PMPs) who want to enhance their skills in this area. Students will find the Graduate Certificate in Project Management useful to enter or reenter the job market, to change careers, or for advancement in their chosen organization. The CBU CMBA program is a highly challenging analytically based program designed to prepare students for real world business situations. The 7 course core is compiled of interlocking, small group-oriented courses with the intention of improving analytical and relational skills necessary in today’s workplace. This project based Capstone course is a conceptualization of all previous core classes; students have the option of writing a master’s level thesis, working with an area non-profit organization in the development of a marketing plan, or creating a personal business plan. The remaining 3 courses allow students to tailor their learning toward an area of concentration. The 35 credit hour program can be completed in 27 months by attending class one night per week from 6-10PM. For more information, please visit www.cbu.edu/mba. Key topics include, culture, research, globalization, internationalization, global marketing & finance. The program is structured around cohort groups of 20-25 students who begin and complete the 12-month program together in a cohesive group. MIB cohorts start once per year, in June. The 31-hour MIB curriculum consists of three modules taken in sequential order. The curriculum is designed to foster in-depth learning, concentration and application of each discipline. Through 6 months of alternating Saturday sessions, 14 weeks of an intense investment readiness project and mentorship, to the 2 week immersion in Barcelona, Spain, our students are challenged and groomed for the international marketplace.
