Last week, our Baptist medical students got a delicious surprise, a taste of Dr. Elizabeth Browning’s cooking! 🍽️ At BUCOM, learning goes far beyond traditional medicine. Students explored the power of nutrition, diving into anti‑inflammatory diets and discovering how food itself can be medicine. 🌱
Asian mushrooms + Bok choy = the perfect classroom snack.

This past weekend, our medical students and faculty joined Collierville High School’s Health Fair 🍎 to spark conversations about healthy choices and nutrition. Families and students explored interactive tables, learned practical tips, and connected with current and future healthcare professionals.
🩺Medical student, Ramez Mikhail reflected on his experience, “Standing at our table, speaking with students and parents, took me back to when I was a high school student. Connecting with healthcare professionals in my community who genuinely cared about me and my health instilled a deep sense of trust. It reminded me that care doesn’t begin in the clinic; it begins long before a patient ever walks through the door. As future physicians and community partners, it’s our responsibility to meet people where they are. By engaging with our communitict, we build trust, foster relationships, and create a foundation that allows care to be more meaningful when it matters most.” 💙🩵
