The Department of Biological Sciences faculty have research interests that integrate molecular, cellular, and developmental biology with ecology, evolution, and behavior. Meghann joined the Puckett lab after earning a BSc in Zoology from the University of Florida. She is now studying the population demography of American black bears in the Pacific Northwest 🐻🌲

It is ⭐ Meet our new grad students Thursday ⭐

Allie just started her PhD in the Bretscher lab. Using Drosophila flies, she studies how TGFb activin signaling in muscles regulates carbohydrate homeostasis. She already worked with flies and ants as an undergrad in the Kohlmeier lab. This fall, she is also teaching the Biochem lab 🧪⚗️👩🏾‍🔬

Dr. Shawn Brown and Ph.D. student Kimberly Baldwin are working with regional peach growers to better predict disease risk and make fungicide use more targeted and effective.
