It is with great sadness that we mourn the loss of our beloved Mrs. Geraldine โ€œJeriโ€ Burton.

For more than two decades, Mrs. Jeri faithfully served the Loewenberg College of Nursing, touching the lives of countless nursing students, faculty, staff and community partners.

Her joyful laughter, welcoming smile and gentle spirit brought warmth to everyone she encountered and will forever echo through the halls of the Community Health Building. Her impact will continue to extend far beyond the walls of LCON through the numerous nursing professionals she graciously influenced.

Mrs. Jeriโ€™s legacy will always be a part of LCON. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

The University of Memphis Loewenberg College of Nursing is grateful to the Bedford Falls Foundation-DAF and the Hanover Family Foundation for their generous support of student success initiatives. This transformative grant will provide wraparound student services and establish a Dean's Emergency Fund, helping remove financial barriers so students can stay on track to graduation and strengthen the nursing workforce across Memphis and the Mid-South.
