A passion for mental health counseling led Julia Pollitt to an internship opportunity that aligned closely with her career goals.
Last summer, the B.S. Psychology student completed an administrative internship at Reflective Roots Psychotherapy & Healing in Baldwin, Wisconsin, a woman-owned private practice specializing in trauma and grief therapy.
During her internship, Pollitt helped prepare appointments, organize policies and documents, compile referral resources and review crisis support materials, gaining valuable experience and insight into the mental health field.
After graduating in spring 2028, Pollitt plans to pursue UW-Stout Polytechnic's M.S. clinical mental health counseling program and eventually open her own practice.
"One way I hope to make an impact in my field is by incorporating both somatic and psychological interventions into my therapy practices. I learned a lot about this during my internship and have grown incredibly passionate about diverse interventions for treating various psychological illnesses and struggles."
