Our first-year students in Dr. M’s Clinical Methods class rotated through different assessment tools, getting hands-on practice while learning how to think beyond the test itself.

A fun way to build familiarity, compare measures, ask questions, and start thinking like clinicians. 💙

How did we forget to share that we’re going to ASHA?!

We are beyond proud of the faculty, students, and alumni representing our program this year, both in person and virtually. Our ASHA crew includes 3 second-year students, 4 alumni, and 6 faculty members presenting across 3 oral seminars, 2 invited sessions, 1 technical session, and 9 posters!

What an incredible reflection of the growth, collaboration, and scholarship happening throughout our SLP community. We cannot wait to cheer everyone on, reconnect with colleagues, and celebrate together.

Orientation Week is officially in the books, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome the ATSU SLP Class of 2028!

From meeting classmates and faculty to exploring campus, learning about the program, and making the first of many memories, it has been an incredible week. We hope you felt the warmth, support, and sense of community that makes our program so special.

🚨New Publication🚨 Dr. Martinez-Nieto, Dr. Centeno-Vázquez, and Dr. Maldonado-De la Rosa, along with faculty from the Occupational Therapy Department, recently published a study exploring interprofessional education experiences among Speech-Language Pathology and Occupational Therapy graduate students.
This work highlights the value of collaborative learning in preparing future clinicians for team-based, patient-centered care.

Our first years came together to celebrate all the hard work, memories, friendships, and milestones that made this year unforgettable. From classes and simulations to late-night studying and clinical experiences, they made it through YEAR ONE! 🙌

So proud of this group and all they’ve accomplished. Onward to year two! ✨

Our first-year students recently visited Tempe Post Acute, where they offered hearing and cognitive screenings to residents as part of their growing clinical experiences. 💙

It was a meaningful opportunity to connect with the community, practice hands-on skills, and continue learning the importance of compassionate, patient-centered care.

We are so proud of the professionalism, kindness, and dedication our students continue to show in every experience! ✨
