🌎 Where in the World is Dr. Phillips? 🌎

Our new DCE, Dr. Daphne Phillips, has officially started her site visits, and this stop took her to Chicago to visit one of our second-year students during their clinical rotation!

Did you know this is one of the perks of our program? We help find your clinical rotations, and during your second year, you can complete placements out of state. Our DCE also travels to visit students and connect with their clinical sites along the way.

We love seeing our students learning across the country while still feeling connected to the program. Where will Dr. Phillips go next?

We’re so proud of Dr. Tiffany Hines for joining SLP Nerdcast to discuss an important topic for our profession: practical and systems-level strategies to address SLP burnout.

We love seeing our faculty share their expertise beyond the classroom and contribute to conversations that support SLPs across the profession.

Give it a listen and show Dr. Hines some love!

Hairnets on and ready to serve!

Our faculty and NSSLHA students had such a great time volunteering with Feed My Starving Children. There’s nothing better than stepping outside the classroom, working together, and giving back to the community.

And somehow… everyone still managed to look amazing in those hairnets. 😄

Speed dating is always fun… especially when it’s with standardized assessments. 😄

Our first-year students in Dr. M’s Clinical Methods class rotated through different assessment tools, getting hands-on practice while learning how to think beyond the test itself.

A fun way to build familiarity, compare measures, ask questions, and start thinking like clinicians. 💙

Kinda chic to learn by doing.
Kinda chic to have the lab, the mentors, the research opportunities, and the people to do it all with.
Kinda chic to be ATSU SLP. ✨

Swipe through and see why we think grad school can be kinda chic. 💙

How did we forget to share that we’re going to ASHA?!

We are beyond proud of the faculty, students, and alumni representing our program this year, both in person and virtually. Our ASHA crew includes 3 second-year students, 4 alumni, and 6 faculty members presenting across 3 oral seminars, 2 invited sessions, 1 technical session, and 9 posters!

What an incredible reflection of the growth, collaboration, and scholarship happening throughout our SLP community. We cannot wait to cheer everyone on, reconnect with colleagues, and celebrate together.

See you in Indianapolis! ✨

🚨New Publication🚨 Dr. Martinez-Nieto, Dr. Centeno-Vázquez, and Dr. Maldonado-De la Rosa, along with faculty from the Occupational Therapy Department, recently published a study exploring interprofessional education experiences among Speech-Language Pathology and Occupational Therapy graduate students.
This work highlights the value of collaborative learning in preparing future clinicians for team-based, patient-centered care.
