FIU Miami Beach Urban Studios is proud to recognize FIU MFA student and Radcliffe Fellow Dudley Alexis for his participation in a timely conversation celebrating Miami’s Haitian art legacy.

The discussion explored the legacy’s roots, its evolving visual language, and the artists and thinkers helping shape its future. Haitian contemporary artist Edouard Duval-Carrié anchored the conversation with invited panelists Alexia Vorbe, a Haitian-born writer, researcher, and curator, and Dudley Alexis, a filmmaker and visual artist.

The gathering also included acclaimed photojournalist Carl Juste and Rebecca Friedman of the FIU Public Humanities Lab.

Congratulations to Dudley on contributing to this important conversation about Haitian art, culture, and creative legacy!
