If you’d like to participate, please send a message to Brianna Hernandez attaching the syllabus you’d like to work in. Faculty has kindly asked for early access to as many as possible to optimize the sessions. No fake/mock syllabi will be permitted.
In alphabetical order, the faculty participating in this event are:
Ronald W. Cox- Professor Cox has written extensively in the areas of US foreign economic policy, international political economy, American foreign policy, and the political economy of baseball. Under his many accolades, Professor Cox created the first open-access academic journal in the history of FIU titled “Class, Race, and Corporate Power”. Professor Cox has won several teaching awards and had taught a wide variety of courses, including American Foreign Policy, International Political Economy( and Corporate Power and American Politics.
Kyle Mattes- Professor Mattes is Associate Chair of the Department of Politics and International Relations. His teaching experience include courses in public opinion, methods of political analysis, research methods, and formal political modeling.
John G. Oates- Professor Oates’ research focuses on the dynamics of authority and legitimacy in global governance, with a particular interest in the origins of supranational institutions. His area of expertise are International Law and Organization, IR theory, Social Theory, and Normative International Theory.
Susanne Zwingel- Dr. Zwingel’s research interests include international women’s rights and their translation; public gender policies and gender equality advocacy around the world; global governance and gender; feminist, constructivist and post-colonial IR theories; gender and armed conflict; and interpretivist methodology. As a German and US citizen who is also fluent in Spanish she is proud to contribute to FIU’s multicultural and dynamic community.
