Hello Global Brigaders!
We all hope you had a great winter break and are just as excited as we are to be back! Both the Public Health Brigade and the Medical Brigade to Nicaragua are coming up in just a few months, but there is still time to sign up!
An informational meeting for the Public Health Brigade will be held on January 23rd at 8 pm in UC 2300J, and a meeting for the Medical Brigade will be held on January 24th at 8pm in UC 2300H. We will be going over schedules, pricing, fundraising, travel information, and much more!
The Public Health Brigade is May 10th to 16th, and will be led by Sam Brindley. The program cost for this brigade is $790, which does not include air fare. The Medical Brigade to Nicaragua is May 10th to 16th, and will be led by Helen Kattoura and Danielle Neskora. The program cost for this brigade is $990, which does not include air fare.
If you're interested in going on either brigade and would like more information before the meeting, you can email this message back for general questions, email Helen at [email protected] or Danielle at [email protected] for the medical brigade, or email Sam at mailto:[email protected] for the public health brigade. Feel free to explore GB's awesome website https://www.globalbrigades.org for additional information as well.
If you're already ready to sign up, the brigade pages can be found at https://fundraise.globalbrigades.org/empowered/chapter/university-of-miami-public-health-brigades-chapter/brigade/university-of-miami-public-health-brigade-december-2017-nicaragua for PH, and https://fundraise.globalbrigades.org/empowered/chapter/university-of-miami-medical-brigades-chapter/brigade/university-of-miami-medical-brigade-december-2017-nicaragua for medical. Down payments for both brigades are due soon!
We are so excited to be able to offer an experience that not only invaluably impacts your professional career, but that also supports GB’s unique holistic and sustainable model. Your work abroad will create real, long-lasting changes for the members of these impoverished communities. Through education and collaboration, these communities are eventually able to function independently and to prosper on their own.
If you cannot attend this meeting for any reason, you can email us at [email protected] and we will send you all the information that you missed. We look forward to seeing you all there!
