Located on 245 acres in northern Miami-Dade County, this beautifully landscaped campus was the College's first. It was built in 1960 on land that once hosted a World War II Naval air station. The main academic buildings of the Campus surround a serene lake and lush walking paths. MDC's North Campus is home to the Schools of Science, Criminal Justice and Entertainment and Design Technologies and th

e College's Fire Sciences and Funeral Service Education programs. The North Campus also offers several unique opportunities that include bachelor's degrees in Biological Sciences; Film, Television & Digital Production; and Public Safety Management. Meek Entrepreneurial Education Center, which promotes excellence in education, entrepreneurship, and workforce preparation. In January 2010, MDC celebrated the official opening of the College's state of-the-art science complex at North Campus. The first of its kind in north Miami-Dade County, the 90,000-square-foot complex features 21 laboratories with media stations, a Palmetum, a roof-top observatory, classrooms, lecture hall, faculty and administrative offices, botanical garden, greenhouse, an outdoor plaza and a café.

This week, we were proud to welcome the Miami-Dade Schools Division of Athletics and Activities for their Opening of Schools event! This past week we celebrated the accomplishments of students across four incredible summer programs, each one marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter!

Whether gaining real-world experience through the Summer Youth Internship Program (SYIP), preparing for college through the Summer Enrichment Academy (S.E.A.), or building a strong foundation for success through the STEM Summer Bridge and STEM Academy Programs, students spent the summer learning, growing, and preparing for bright futures.

As these programs came to a close, we celebrated not only our their achievements, but also the determination, resilience, and hard work that brought them to this milestone.

From bringing projects to life in Future Builders to uncovering clues in CSI and creating music in the studio, campers explored new interests through hands-on experiences, exploring all that MDC has to offer.
