Dr. Christopher Roblész ’15 discovered at Barry University that education was more than a career path. It was a way to create lasting change.
Originally from New York City, Dr. Roblész chose Barry because it offered an affordable opportunity to pursue his goals through the university’s accelerated bachelor’s and master’s program. While earning his B.S. in Education, he quickly became immersed in campus life, serving on the Education Committee, participating in SGA and building connections through the Barry community.
As an educator, Dr. Roblész has always believed in setting high expectations. While teaching algebra, his students achieved some of the highest scores, a reflection of his philosophy that “you produce lifelong learners by holding the bar high to become a productive citizen.”
After graduating from Barry, Dr. Roblész continued expanding his expertise, earning four additional education certifications, advancing from teacher to principal, and eventually serving in a superintendent’s district office.
His passion for educational access led him to create Math N' More, a nonprofit organization founded in 2020 that provides tutoring, educational programming and support for students and families. What began as virtual math workshops during the COVID-19 pandemic grew into partnerships with schools, summer programs and opportunities for college students to gain hands-on experience through internships in tutoring, marketing, social media and grant development.
Dr. Roblész lives by the belief that “you cannot become what you cannot see.” Through education, mentorship and service, he continues to help students envision possibilities beyond what they thought was possible.
From Barry’s classrooms to communities across the country, Dr. Roblész is proving that education has the power to transform lives.
