We’re rounding out our Academic Community Connections Series by highlighting Psych 0225!💡This child development course pairs students with community partners to complete need-based projects that involve working with or advocating for children.
Gina Thomas, Associate Professor of Psychology, has spent years developing the course and champions a community-based learning framework that helps students deepen their understanding of course theories while gaining real-world experience. “I find that students often realize that they underestimate children,” says Prof Thomas. “I think it gives them a greater respect for all the things kids are having to process on a daily basis, and how complex their learning is.”🧠 Link to the full story in our bio!
