The GMC Alumni Association was honored to present GMC guidon flags to our Army ROTC Georgia Military College Early Commissioning Program cadets ahead of their Commissioning last week. As they begin their journey as Army officers, we hope these guidons serve as a reminder of where it all started and the legacy they now carry forward.

Congratulations to our newest Second Lieutenants and GMC Alums! 🇺🇸

This Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the courageous men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our nation. 🇺🇸

At Georgia Military College, we recognize the true meaning of this day and the enduring legacy of those who gave their lives in defense of our freedoms.

As a special tribute, we are honored to share this Memorial Day video featuring a heartfelt performance by the GMC Glee Club, made up of members of the GMC Corps of Cadets. Through music and reflection, this tribute serves as a reminder of the bravery, sacrifice, and patriotism that continue to inspire future generations.

Today and always, we remember and honor our fallen heroes.

Today, we proudly celebrated the commissioning of our newest Second Lieutenants in the United States Army! 🇺🇸

After completing two years in Georgia Military College’s ROTC program, these cadets officially took the oath to serve as 2LTs in the U.S. Army, continuing GMC’s long tradition of developing leaders of character and service.

We were also honored to welcome guest speaker and Georgia Military College alumnus Class of 2000, Colonel Nate Stone, who shared words of encouragement and leadership with our graduating cadets. Before he was the Commander of Georgia's National Guard 48th Infantry Brigade, he was a Cadet at GMC, beginning his career the same as our new Second Lieutenants we celebrated today.

Congratulations to each of our new officers on this incredible achievement. Your dedication, discipline, and commitment to leadership have prepared you well for the journey ahead, and the entire GMC family is proud of you!

The Legacy of Leadership lives on. This morning, Georgia Military College hosted its annual Legacy of Leadership Parade on the historic Grant Parade Field, honoring a tradition rooted in service, discipline, and leadership while also celebrating America’s upcoming 250th anniversary.

With guest speaker Bárbara Rivera Holmes, the 11th Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL), the ceremony served as a powerful reminder of GMC’s enduring mission to develop servant leaders for generations to come. The day also included time spent connecting with our students, as she joined cadets from the Corps of Cadets and Preparatory School for lunch, an opportunity to share experiences and inspire the next generation of leaders.

RISING TO NEW HEIGHTS 🧗‍♂️

At Georgia Military College, developing leaders means creating opportunities for students to be challenged, tested, and transformed. Our mission to build authentic servant leaders comes to life through hands-on experiences that push individuals beyond their comfort zones and into growth.

A new 35-foot steel rappel tower, funded entirely by GMC through a $700,000 investment, is now complete and in use. Designed to expand hands-on leadership training across the institution, the tower serves Prep School cadets, Junior College Corps of Cadets, and visiting programs alike. It also functions as a regional hub for JROTC Rappel Certification and a key training site for JROTC Cadet Leadership Challenge (JCLC) Camps hosted on Main Campus each summer.

But this is more than a training structure—it’s a transformational resource for our students.

While it plays a critical role in military training, the impact goes far beyond that. The rappel tower challenges individuals to step outside their comfort zones, strengthening confidence, resilience, trust, and decision-making under pressure—the very qualities that define authentic servant leaders.

Because at GMC, leadership isn’t just taught—it’s experienced.

This is what it means to invest in our students.
This is how we build leaders for the future.

Let’s go, Bulldogs. 🐾
