We caught up with Pete Konenkamp (Class of 1982), who stepped into the studio just weeks after the station first hit the airwaves as WXGC in 1975!

Once a Bobcat, always a Bobcat—and sometimes, the whole family follows!

Meet Dr. Cisco Diaz, the Deputy Superintendent for Brooks County Schools and an alumnus whose GCSU story is a masterclass in making an impact. When Cisco arrived in 2002 for his Master’s in Biology, he did more than just study; he helped shape the student experience for generations to come.

As a graduate assistant, Cisco stepped up to lead our Greek community, modernizing recruitment and starting the annual Greek Week Tug-of-War! Reflecting on his time here, he shares: "The leadership traits and values I carry today: accountability, compassion, trust, and a commitment to growth, are a direct result of my experience working under [Eddie Howard's] leadership." 🎓

The best part? The legacy has become a family affair. With a daughter who recently went through recruitment and a son who is currently a freshman, Cisco is watching his children thrive in the same community that built his foundation.

From the first mixers in January to a packed Senior Send-Off in May, it’s been an unforgettable semester for our Bobcat Alumni! 🐾✨

We’ve traveled to see the Atlanta United, cheered on our student-athletes at Homecoming, hosted meaningful networking events, and welcomed our newest graduates into the Alumni Association family. 🥂📸
