Evan credits much of his success to the lessons, relationships and leadership opportunities he gained at Georgia College, where he served in numerous student leadership roles and built the foundation for a career dedicated to service.

A liberal arts education prepares students not only for careers, but also for meaningful leadership.

The new Institute for Leadership and the Public Good strengthens Georgia College & State University's commitment to developing ethical, effective leaders through experiential learning, community partnerships, global education and public engagement. The institute launched this fall as the university celebrates 30 years as Georgia's designated public liberal arts institution.

It's National Custodian Day and we are eager to say thank you to the dedicated professionals who ensure our classrooms, offices and public facilities are clean and welcoming. The Bobcat custodial staff is part of the GCSU Facilities Management team who keep campus clean, safe, healthy and looking beautiful inside and out.

Especially as we head into a big event like Family Weekend, it's so important to recognize the essential work of our custodians. Thank you all!

Going above and beyond doesn't go unnoticed. Two members of our Department of Public Safety were recently honored with statewide awards.

The Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police recently honored Georgia College & State University Deputy Chief Maj. Brian Freese as Supervisor of the Year and Officer Orion Johnson as Officer of the Year among K-12 and higher education public safety agencies across the state.

“We’re so fortunate to have individuals working at this department that care so much about the job they do and the campus community they serve,” said Chief Wes Hardin. “They are always willing to go above and beyond to do everything they can to provide a safe and secure learning environment while also engaging with our students and being part of the community.”

Their recognition reflects a commitment to service, professionalism and community engagement that helps make Georgia College a safe and welcoming place to learn, work and grow.

Two former Bobcats are headed to baseball’s biggest stage! 👏 ⚾️ Best of luck to Jose Leger, first base coach for the Chicago White Sox, and Walker McKinven ('12), bench coach for the White Sox, as they lead their team into the postseason. Bobcat Nation will be watching and cheering as these alumni compete for a championship.

This weekend, prospective students and their families explored academic programs, connected with faculty and current students and experienced life at Georgia College & State University firsthand during Senior Preview Day.
