Students, faculty, and staff gathered outside today for our Pig Pickin’ & Corn Roastin’, enjoying roasted pork, corn on the cob, German potato pancakes, and plenty of time together as a campus community.

The event also highlights a great sustainability partnership at WLC. Since 2023, Warrior Dining and VP of Student Life Jon Boche, owner of HB Slakter Meats, have worked together to put campus food waste to good use at his local farm.

A special thank you to Jon Boche, HB Slakter, and Sodexo for helping make today's meal and gathering possible!

Students from nearby Wisconsin Lutheran College recently assembled and donated welcome bags for Kathy’s House guests. Filled with thoughtful essentials, these bags are waiting in guest rooms when families arrive, often after a long day of travel and with medical care on their minds.

It’s a simple gesture that helps make an unfamiliar place feel a little more welcoming from the very beginning.

The student actors in WLC’s production of "New York" have been rehearsing with Director Simon Provan over the summer so that they could present this show on the 25th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks. Set in a psychologist’s office, the play follows several fictional victims as they work through trauma related to the attacks, blending poignant moments with humor.

In the vastness of God’s creation, it can be easy to feel small. Why would God care about one person in such a massive world?

That was the question Pastor Lyon explored in our first Chapel of the academic year this morning through Psalm 8.

His reminder to our campus community: You were made to be more than a speck. You were made for God. You are a valued child of God, created in His image, and Jesus gave His life for you.

It was a meaningful beginning to this week’s Chapel theme, Rooted in Christ, as we return to the foundational truths that shape who we are at WLC.

Chapel is held Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 10 a.m. and Tuesday and Thursday at 11 a.m.
