Calling all Exercise Science students, coaches, professionals, and faculty! 📢

Are you aware of the STRONG Act (H.R. 9527)? Introduced by Rep. Burgess Owens, this critical legislation aims to officially recognize Strength and Conditioning Coaches as a distinct occupation within the Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) system.

Standardized SOC recognition means better career tracking, accurate wage data, improved industry advocacy, and greater professional legitimacy for future exercise professionals. As undergrads entering the field, understanding—and advocating for—these legislative shifts helps protect and advance the degree you're working toward.

How to advocate for your degree in 3 easy steps:
1. Find your U.S. Representative at house.gov/representatives/find-your-representative using your home zip code.
2. Go to their contact form or call their office asking them to support and co-sponsor H.R. 9527, the STRONG Act.
3. Use the NSCA's pre-written template letter on the link below to send a message in under two minutes!

Take a moment to contact your representative, support industry advocacy efforts, and shape the future of our field! 🏋️‍♂️💪

Jenny is a SPE alumnus-prayers are appreciated!! 💚

Please join us in praying for Jenny (Ebeling) Biebert ’15. Following a severe case of COVID in 2022, Jenny developed ongoing health challenges and was eventually diagnosed with Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS) related to toxic mold exposure from hidden water damage in her home’s basement.

Jenny is pursuing specialized treatment through both local and out-of-state providers in hopes of restoring her health. Her provider has also recommended that Jenny and her family replace all porous belongings — including furniture, bedding, clothing, toys, and books — and explore relocating to give her the best chance at healing.

If you feel called and are able to help, we invite you to visit this GoFundMe page set up on Jenny’s behalf: bit.ly/BiebertCIRS

Built through hard work, strengthened through faith, & ready for what’s next. ✨

This past Saturday there were many students that graduated with a Bachelor degree in Sport and Exercise Science!

Your dedication, resilience, and passion have carried you through every early morning, long lab, internship experience, and challenge along the way. You are moving to the next season of life with the ability to impact lives, encourage health & wellness, and serve others with compassion and purpose. As you begin this next season, trust that God is guiding every step ahead. Continue to work hard, lead humbly, and shine your light wherever you go.

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” – Joshua 1:9

We are beyond proud of all you have accomplished. Congratulations, Class of 2026! 🎓
