As we start the school year, we would like to extend a huge congratulations to a project that has received a tremendous honor. “Mapping Racism and Resistance” is the recipient of the 2026 Governor’s Archives Award for Archival Advocacy. This project was selected by the Wisconsin Historical Society and Board of Curators. Professor Anne Bonds from Geography and Professor Derek Handley from English have taken the lead on this project along with hundreds of community volunteers. We congratulate everyone involved to make this possible and for earning this well deserved award.
On August 28 at 3:00 PM at the Wisconsin Black Historical Society there will be remarks and notes of appreciation on receiving this award. Please join if you are able to celebrate!
