University of Scranton Chapter of Alpha Sigma Nu

University of Scranton Chapter of Alpha Sigma Nu Alpha Sigma Nu (ASN) is the National Jesuit Honor Society. ASN members are dedicated to living the pillars of scholarship, loyalty, and service.

Alpha Sigma Nu honors students who distinguish themselves in scholarship, loyalty to the ideals of Jesuit education, and service to others while attending one of the 28 Jesuit colleges and universities in the United States, Regis and Campion Colleges in Canada, or Sogang University in Seoul, South Korea. As the only honor society permitted to bear the name Jesuit, the vision of the Society is the

encouragement of Ignatian inspired lifelong leaders, accomplished through Chapter action, Alumni Club programs, and ΑΣΝ website resources.

Celebrate Father Danihy Day, Founder of Alpha Sigma Nu!

On this same date over 100 years ago, Fr. Danihy believed his newly inducted students exemplified a dedication to scholarship, loyalty to the cause of Jesuit education, and service to their campuses, and instructed them "to band together those who most fully understand and appreciate the ideals of a Jesuit education and to impress these ideals upon their fellow men.”

A special event occurs this morning for University of Scranton graduating members of Alpha Sigma Nu, the Jesuit Honor Society. ASN graduates will receive Medallions in a solemn ceremony that recognizes their outstanding Scholarship, Service, and Loyalty to the ideals of Jesuit education.
At each Jesuit University, membership in the Jesuit Honor Society is considered to be the highest honor that can be bestowed on a student.
