UWM Women's & Gender Studies

UWM Women's & Gender Studies UWM was the first campus in the UW System to initiate a Women's Studies program in 1974.

Women's & Gender Studies facilitates research and course development about women and gender-related issues, coordinates the interdisciplinary Women's & Gender Studies undergraduate and graduate instructional programs, and works with local, state, and national groups on issues of importance to women. Today, students at UWM can pursue an undergraduate Women's & Gender Studies major and minor, a Mast

ers in Women's & Gender Studies, a Graduate Certificate through the Graduate School, a joint Masters in Women's & Gender Studies and Masters Library and Information Studies (MLIS), and a joint Masters in Women's & Gender Studies and Social Work (MSW).
