The Race, Ethnicity, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Department at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire seeks an instructor to teach one in-person section of WGSS 100: Introduction to Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies this fall. The position begins on 8/16/26 and ends 1/2/27. Applicants should have a Masters degree, be in the process of completing their doctorate, or have a PhD in WGSS or a related field.

The option for days/times to teach an in-person section of WGSS 100 in the fall are: Tuesday/Thursday 11am-12:15pm or Tuesday/Thursday 12:30-1:45pm. Each section is already fully enrolled with 35 students. Compensation for the course is $4200. The REGSS Department will also offer an office on the third floor of Hibbard Humanities Hall for the duration of the position.
WGSS 100 is an introduction to the study of women, gender, and sexuality informed by intersectional, transnational, and decolonial feminist theories and methods. Students have the opportunity to gain critical understandings of relationships between gender, various social categories (e.g., race, disability, class), and power within everyday interactions and institutions. Lectures, assigned readings, group discussion, and individual research/creative projects will familiarize students with feminist scholars, activists, and cultural producers who have conceptualized and theorized diverse issues to challenge systemic oppression and enact social and political change. Course assignments will encourage students to place their own unique ideas, lived experiences, and professional goals in productive dialogue with the field of WGSS.
