Detective Gale’s brother is a representative in the Nassau PBA and our thoughts and prayers are with Detective Gale, his family, and our brothers and sisters in the NYPD. The Nassau County PBA is proud to endorse Thomas P. DiNapoli for New York State Comptroller in his Primary race taking place now!

For years, Comptroller DiNapoli has been a steadfast supporter of working men and women, public employees, and law enforcement across New York State. His leadership and commitment to protecting the retirement security of our members have earned our trust and support.

Early voting is already underway. We encourage our members and supporters who are eligible to make their voices heard in this important election. Spread to family and friends and let them know how vital Tom DiNapoli is to New York State!

Last week, Police Officer Joseph Mueller who is assigned to the Bureau of Special Operations received the Theodore Roosevelt Police Award. This award is presented to Police Officers across the nation who have overcome significant challenges and injuries. Officer Muller suffered an aortic aneurysm and heart surgery. Through rigorous recovery and determination he has been able to resume patrol and serve the residents of Nassau County. Officers Mueller’s resolve is a testament to his dedicated public service.

Also recognized in this ceremony was Sgt. Patrick Donlon of the Suffolk County Police Department. Sgt. Donlon bravely battled pancreatic cancer and continued serving Suffolk County residents throughout his treatment. He has since retired earlier this year after 25 years of service.

Congratulations to these dedicated public servants who rose above difficult situations and faced them with tremendous bravery!

Last night, the Nassau County PBA held its annual New York Mets game for the families of our fallen heroes. As always it was a fun filled night and a reminder that we will never forget the sacrifices of their loved ones. A great Mets victory followed by a fireworks show afterwards!

Today we paid respects to former NCPD Assistant Commissioner John G. Kennedy who passed from a 9/11 related illness. We extend our condolences to the Kennedy family, his friends, and those who served alongside him. Commissioner Kennedy served as a Nassau County Police Officer, Detective and Assistant Commissioner. He continued his dedication to public service in his post career work serving as a judge in Bayville and working with CrimeStoppers. May he rest in peace

The Nassau PBA stands with our brothers and sisters in the NYPD as we ask our members and supporters to speak up on another vital piece of legislation that protects our membership and police officers across the state. S.4117/A.2074 proposes sealing police disciplinary records regarding unfounded, exonerated, and pending claims against law enforcement officers from public disclosure.

Please continue to make your voices heard and protect the men and women that keep our communities safe!
