Yesterday and Today have been WONDERFUL workdays for me!!! A huge project...and learning curve using excel and merges and and and stuff... (still learning), but I am happy to say that we have finally processed over $431K in scholarships from 4 different grants going to 127 students seeking initial teacher licensure and maintaining a good (>2.5/3.0 gpa) academic standard.

This amazing Kstp Tv-Channel 5 story showcases how Metro State University is changing students' lives. Our School of Urban Education will receive a 2024 grant of $1.35 million—the largest yet—to support students of color and American Indian students in becoming licensed teachers in Minnesota!

The School of Urban Education is home to several teaching licensure and degree programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels for diverse individuals who seek to make a positive difference in the lives of urban learners and their communities. You will find opportunities to work with diverse schools and districts throughout the Twin Cities metro area which partner with us to meet their needs for a more diverse teaching staff that reflects the students and families they serve with strong commitments, skills, knowledge and experiences to achieve education equity.

The School of Urban Education at Metro State offers several degree and licensure programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels for those interested in teaching urban learners.
