Summer Spotlight☀️🏝️🌊

Let’s check in with Junior, Mei Diesing!!

“This summer I prioritized being active, finding new hobbies, going on long walks, and enjoying everything. Worked at Rolling Green again but got to bring some of my best friends with me and ended up with a new coworker friend group. Got some skates in with First Shift and my Auggie friends, spent weekends with my favorite people, went to Smokeout, visited MN, swam at the Ledge, and still have an MSU trip to look forward to. Definitely a summer of growth, and I’m excited to get back to Augsburg and my second family.”

Let’s check in with Junior goalie, Kayla Simonson!!

“This summer I’ve been keeping busy with hockey, working out, and coaching. When I’m not doing those things, I’ve been able to go up to our family cabin, ride our new jetski, and get a bunch of reading done! Last week, I was a counselor at the High Performance Dave Peterson Goalie and Shooting camp and I had a blast! Right from there, I went to an Airbnb vacation with my mom’s side of the family for the week and made many memories! I’m so excited to get back on campus and get the season started!“

Let’s check in with Sophomore, Kennedy Meier!!

“This summer has been keeping me busy with work, training, and getting ready for the upcoming season! I’ve been spending a lot of time at the Training Haus doing ACE strength and physical therapy three times a week, along with skating at OS and getting extra ice time on my own at Farmington. It’s been great being back on the ice and continuing to work towards the season.

Outside of training, I’ve been working as a skating instructor teaching younger kids how to skate and working wedding events. I’ve also been taking summer classes, so it’s definitely been a busy summer! When I have free time, I’ve been hanging out with friends and family, and next weekend I’m going to go watch the Savanna Bananas game. Overall, it’s been a fun and productive summer, and I can’t wait to get back on campus and be with the team again!“

Let’s check in with Junior forward, Ruby Eskin!

“This summer has been a great mix of tun and work! I recently got back from studying abroad in Italy and it was absolutely amazing! I went to the World Music Therapy Congress and met people from all around the world in this profession, it was very cool. I am also going to Colorado to visit some family in August which I’m really excited for!

I have been training for hockey at Fortis and picking up a couple other skates here and there. I am also working on the Mississippi Queen bartending/serving. It is a tour boat in Minneapolis that has all types of cruises!
It is my first summer here and it’s the perfect summer job. I have also been coaching some little kids hockey when I have the chance which is always fun. Excited to get back to school and the team but grateful for an amazing summer!”

Summer Spotlight🏝️☀️🌊

Let’s check in with Senior forward, Ella Olson!

“This summer has been super busy with working, training, playing hockey, and hanging out with friends and family. This summer I am coaching at APX hockey, coaching a 14u Blue Army team, and also working as a host at Pints and Paddle.

When I am not busy working, I’ve been staying busy with a bunch of other activities. I have been trying a bunch of different coffee shops, having lake days, going on long walks, and making time to hangout with friends! I’ve also got to play in summer league with other Auggies throughout the summer, which is definitely one of my highlights every summer. Overall I’ve had a fun and busy summer and can’t wait to get back to campus!”

Summer Spotlight☀️🌊

Let’s check in with Junior, Emma Brandenburger!

This summer has been quite busy for me. Between work, hockey, friends, and vacations, I have been definitely making the most of my time. I currently work as a desk receptionist at our family business and just finished up my Physical Therapy internship.

Outside of work I love to workout and stay busy. Whether it be hanging out with friends or going to country festivals, I’m there! I attend the Hoofbeat festival not too long ago and this past weekend went to Windy City Smokeout with some fellow auggies. My family and I are also heading to Hawaii at the end of July. Overall my summer has been great and I can’t wait to get back to school!

Huge congratulations to our 13 Augsburg Women’s Hockey players who were awarded ACHA All-American Scholars🦅🦅

These Auggies earned a 3.75 GPA or higher, while also participating in over 40% of the teams games in the 2025-2026 academic year.
