Department of German, Nordic, Slavic & Dutch, University of Minnesota The Department of German, Nordic, Slavic & Dutch (GNSD) is a community engaged in the interdisciplinary study of literature and culture.

GNSD offers a variety of languages, including German, Russian, Dutch, Finnish, Norwegian, and Swedish. For information on our undergraduate and graduate programs, see our website. The GNSD faculty research fields range from cultural studies and gender studies to intellectual history, transnational studies, folklore, film, and second-language acquisition.
