The Pre-Health Student Resource Center works with pre-health students (students who are not yet enrolled in a health degree program) to support them as they explore, prepare, and apply for a health degree program. The Pre-Health Student Resource Center represents a partnership between the Univ

ersity of Minnesota’s undergraduate colleges and the programs within the University’s Academic Health Center. We design our programs to meet the needs of diverse students preparing for careers in the expanding and changing health fields. Are you a pre-health student with a talent for writing? Or a journalism or strat comm major interested in health communication? We have one open student position for the 26-27 academic year, our PHSRC Editorial Assistant! This position will help us with a variety of written communications including interviewing pre-health students and sharing their stories on our PHSRC Pulse Blog, various other blog writing on topics related to the pre-health student interests and the healthcare field, writing and editing web content, newsletters, etc.

The position is for approx. 5 hours per week, and we are looking for a student with work study funds for the 26-27 academic year. A full position description can be found on the student jobs HR site, https://hr.myu.umn.edu/jobs/intstu/375270.

Greetings from Athens! Students in our AHS 3005: Modern Medicine Through History in Greece course are in their final week of their time abroad. They have been visiting historical sights like the Parthenon (photo 1) at the Acropolis, the Ancient Theatre at Epidaurus (photo 2), which was constructed in the late 4th century BC and dedicated to Asclepius, the Greek God of medicine, and of course enjoying beautiful weather and water views 😍

Thinking about a future in healthcare but not sure where to start? 🩺

AHS 1101: Orientation to Health Careers is designed to help you explore the many paths within healthcare and discover what fits you best. Through guest speakers, self-reflection activities, discussions, and career exploration, you’ll gain insight into the skills, professionalism, and experiences needed for health professions.

You’ll also learn more about health-related majors, professional programs, and how to build an action plan for your future goals.
