The Institute on Community Integration is a federally-designated University Center for Excellence in Disabilities located at the University of Minnesota. It carries out research, training, consultation, and information sharing to ensure that all children, youth, and adults with disabilities are valued by, and have the opportunity to contribute to, their communities of choice. From its home in the

University's College of Education and Human Development, it works in partnership with government agencies, non-profit organizations, community service providers, businesses, K-12 and higher education, and other professionals and organizations in a wide range of fields across the U.S. and internationally to address disability issues across the lifespan.

As one of three recipients of an Inclusive Higher Education Grant from the Minnesota Office of Higher Education, BSU will launch UBelong@BemidjiState, the first program of its kind on a four-year university campus in Minnesota. The initiative will create opportunities for students to experience university life while pursuing individualized academic, career and personal goals.
