The second-year grad students hit the road for two busy days of speech and hearing screenings at Turtle Mountain Head Start! Opportunities like this give our students a chance to put their clinical skills to work while gaining experience out in the communities we serve.

The second-year graduate students joined MSU Nursing for a simulation experience this morning, completing swallowing assessments while working alongside nursing students to provide patient care.

A sneak peek at what’s ahead in CSD 👀👂

Dr. Olson brought Carl along for a visit to CSD 150! Our first-year students got a quick introduction to this teaching tool and then had some time to try it out!

CSD 150 is all about giving our newest students a chance to explore the field and get an early look at the many areas of speech language pathology and audiology!

👏 A big congratulations to Courtney Olson on her recent publication!

Today's featured article is "Improving Speech-Language Pathology Graduate Student Confidence in Evidence-Based Practice" from Courtney Olson and Carla Tierney-Hendricks! When asked to report on their greatest takeaway from their article, they indicated "I think the biggest takeaway from the research is that there are structured ways supervisors can support students (so supervisors aren't always running blind)- we just need to keep finding them."
