🎉 🏅 For Daniel Eleyahouzadeh, MD '23, becoming a doctor was always his calling — one that carried him through rejection and doubt until he became a psychiatrist devoted to children and adolescents. A lifelong volunteer, he's continued that commitment since graduating, supporting RUSM alumni events and connecting with accepted students to help guide their journeys. Now, he's being honored with the Alumni Ambassador Award. 🏆

Last week, alumni from RUSM and American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine (AUC) attended an alumni mixer in Kansas City, held alongside the AAFP Future of Family Medicine Conference. Alumni gathered at P.S. Speakeasy inside the historic Hotel Phillips for an evening of networking, shared experiences, and career connections as attendees look ahead to residency and beyond.

We were honored to be joined by representatives from the Ontario Physician Recruitment Forum, who spoke with Canadian alumni about pathways to return home and practice, reflecting our commitment to Canadian physician opportunities.

The AAFP Future Conference remains one of our best chances to bring the RUSM and AUC communities together — and this year's mixer proved just how valuable that is. 🩺✨

Rossies on the Rise 📈 Congratulations to Roberto Swazo, MD '15, Director of Pulmonary Hypertension at Orlando Regional Medical Center, on leading his team to a major milestone: achieving designation as a Pulmonary Hypertension Center of Excellence — only the 4th center in the entire state of Florida to earn this accreditation!

This achievement reflects the highest standard of specialized care for patients battling this complex and often under-recognized condition, and it's a testament to the leadership and clinical excellence Dr. Swazo brings to his field.
