🐍 You’ve never heard this famous Greek tale quite like this!

Acclaimed composer Jocelyn Hagen joined the UM Symphonic Wind Ensemble recently to offer insight into its upcoming performance of “Medusa,” Hagen’s riveting and innovative theatrical work.

The piece combines wind, brass, percussion, a soprano solo and spoken word to retell and recontextualize the infamous Gorgon’s story as one of misunderstanding, love, loss, and rage.

Hear it yourself at 7:30 p.m. on Fri., Oct. 9 at the Dennison Theatre! Tickets online at umt.edu/griztix.

For more than four decades, Denley Loge has returned to the University of Montana Homecoming Parade with his trombone in hand. He has marched, played and, more recently, ridden with the UM Alumni Band — part of a longstanding tradition that turns a familiar route through downtown Missoula into a rolling reunion.

See Denley, the alumni band and rest of the 2026 UM Homecoming parade this Saturday starting at 10 a.m. in downtown Missoula!
