Today all 3 Practical Nursing cohorts participated in Mock Interviews at Boone Hospital in Columbia. Each student was provided an opportunity to sit through at least 2 professional nursing interviews. Several area healthcare employers attended the event. MACC would like to thank Boone Hospital for hosting the event and we thank you to all the organizations that participated today and supported our students.

Clinical at the Mexico PN program today was working in VR simulation. Through VR we took care of a 5 year old little boy in respiratory distress due to pneumonia. The students were able to build critical thinking skills and team work. Their time management and prioritization greatly improved. Being able to provide Virtual Reality Simulation to our nursing students allow us to expose them to situations they don’t have the ability to experience in real life clinicals. This helps us prepare them for the real world of nursing.

The Mexico Practical Nursing Coordinator attend the career day at North Callaway Highschool. We were accompanied by Payon Altiser - Sim Coordinator, Tanna Whitworth - Assistant, & Faith Cash - current PN student.
During the fair, we walked students through our VR simulation, taught them how to obtain a blood pressure, and discussed the different stages of pressure ulcers.

Congratulations to our incredible LPN-to-ADN bridge students!

​Today, our students presented their Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) projects, and the level of dedication and clinical insight on display was truly impressive. These projects represent months of hard work, research, and a commitment to improving patient outcomes and the future of nursing.

​Watching these students bridge the gap between their current expertise and their new roles as ADNs is an inspiration. They navigated complex clinical questions with professionalism and passion and they did a wonderful job!
