Thank you to everyone who helped to make the annual Penn State Beaver Alumni Society golf outing a success! It was great to see the golfers who return year after year to support our students and to welcome new faces. We’d also like to extend a thank you to Seven Oaks Country Club for hosting our event and helping us create a fun and memorable day.

We’re already looking forward to 2027!

Congratulations to Dr. Talha Harcar, professor of business at Penn State Beaver, and Bryan Cattivera with University Police and Public Safety, on celebrating 25 years at Penn State! Dr. Harcar and Officer Cattivera are two of 93 Penn State employees who reached their 25-year work milestones with the University.

As part of an ongoing monthly series in partnership with Human Resources, Penn State Today is recognizing full-time faculty, staff and technical service employees who achieved their 25-year milestones in August.

🏈📚 The Penn State Beaver Library’s annual tailgate party was a success! Students enjoyed delicious food, fun giveaways, and outdoor games including bucket golf. ⛳️🎉

Congratulations to Penn State alums Tyler and Krissy (Hogue) McMaster on their first wedding anniversary! Both 2022 graduates, Krissy graduated from Beaver campus with a degree in Business and Corporate Communications, and Tyler graduated from the Behrend campus with a degree in International Business Marketing.

Thank you to Krissy and Tyler for sharing some wedding photos with us! We love to see what our Penn State alumni are doing.

Our annual golf outing is off to a great start. Prior to tee off, the golfers warmed up on the putting green and tested their skill in our putting contest.

Penn State Beaver extends its heartfelt thanks to Kate and Graham Becker for their generous estate commitment to establish the Allen J. Becker Scholarship. Named in honor of Graham’s father, a retired Marine and Vietnam War veteran, the scholarship will support students with demonstrated financial need who have a military connection.

The Beckers’ generosity reflects a meaningful family tradition of service, leadership and giving back. Kate learned the importance of community involvement from her father, John Hertneky, a Penn State Beaver alum and dedicated campus volunteer.

We are grateful to the Beckers and the Hertneky family for their continued commitment to Penn State Beaver and to helping students achieve their goals.

Penn State alumna Kate Becker and her husband, Graham Becker, of Wilmington, Delaware, have made giving back — and giving back to Penn State — a family tradition.

The bookstore will have regular pop-up hours from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays during the fall semester.

On Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays books that were ordered can be picked up in the Housing & Food Services office from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The pop-up is located on the first floor of the Student Union Building. Please remember the bookstore is cashless.

Starting your first year at a new school can feel overwhelming. Irene Hayes, a third-year student and Lion Ambassador, remembers feeling homesick and worrying about making friends when she first arrived on campus. It didn’t take long for her to find her community, build friendships, and connect with faculty and staff.
