Thrilled to share that students from Montclair State University have been recognized with the Best Paper – Reviewers’ Choice Award at IEMTRONICS 2026!
Under the guidance of Dr. Katherine G. Herbert, the team—Ola Suaifan, Vaibhavi Tiwari, and Ramy Othman—received this honor for their paper titled “HMAIDS: A Hierarchical Multi-Agent Framework for Adaptive and Explainable Intrusion Detection.”
The paper introduces a scalable and adaptive multi-agent architecture for intrusion detection, designed to address the growing complexity of modern cyber threats. By integrating distributed detection mechanisms with a centralized coordination layer, the framework enables more resilient, real-time threat analysis and response. A key contribution is its focus on explainability, ensuring that security decisions are transparent and interpretable, an increasingly critical requirement for trust and accountability in cybersecurity systems.
This achievement highlights the strength of collaborative research and innovation at Montclair, as well as the impact of advancing intelligent and explainable cybersecurity systems. Proud to see such outstanding work being recognized on an international stage!
