This weekend, we proudly celebrated excellence, leadership, and service at our Distinguished Alumni Awards Ceremony, honoring 15 outstanding alumni whose achievements continue to inspire our university community and beyond.
A special and heartfelt tribute was paid to the late Rev. Cromwell A. Handy, whose life and legacy of leadership and service were celebrated during the event. We were privileged to have members of his family join us for this meaningful occasion as they announced the establishment of the Rev. Cromwell A. Handy Scholarship with an initial gift of $10,500. In support of this lasting legacy, the Alabama State University Foundation contributed an additional $10,000 to the scholarship fund.
The spirit of giving continued as members of a previous Distinguished Alumni class came together to present a gift of $10,795 to Alabama State University, demonstrating their ongoing commitment to advancing opportunities for future generations of Hornets.
Together, these acts of recognition, remembrance, and generosity made for a truly memorable weekend. We extend our sincere congratulations to our Distinguished Alumni honorees, gratitude to the Handy family, and appreciation to the ASU Foundation.
