Today marks Thomas Goode Jones School of Law's 98th year of teaching law school students. Some interesting facts about our 1L class:
193 Matriculants
18 states and two countries represented (Top 4 states: Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Texas and Tennessee (tied for fourth))
55.4% women and 44.6% men
Top 3 Undergraduate Schools represented: Auburn, Alabama and Troy
This recruiting cycle had exceptional growth. Faulkner Law had a 35.2% increase in applications over the previous cycle placing us in the top 25 in the Nation for growth.
Our full-time program saw a 41.2% increase in applications placing us in the top 10 nationally for growth.
To put all of this in perspective, law schools nationally averaged 10.8% growth in applications over the previous year.
Our growth was done without sacrificing quality as our 75th LSAT and GPA quartile increased overall.
The Fall 2026 entering class reflects both the strength of Faulkner Law's traditional base and the school's expanding national reach. For the first time in history the law school's entering class includes a majority of students from outside Alabama (55%).
Faulkner Law has evolved from a primarily regional law school into a law school with a national recruiting footprint, reflecting growing national interest. Combined with its nationally recognized Trial Advocacy program, strong employment outcomes, and innovative Executive Schedule, Faulkner Law is attracting students from across the nation and the world while continuing to maintain deep ties to the Alabama legal community.
Please join us in praying that our students have a successful year and that Faulkner Law continues to make a meaningful impact in our communities.
LEARN LAW. SEEK JUSTICE.
