Dada Rafiki Tri-County Graduate Chapter donated school supplies and sensory toys to Sankofa Freedom Academy Charter School at back to school night on September 1, 2026.

Sankofa Freedom Academy Charter School is a K-12 college preparatory public charter school in Philadelphia that centers its academics on African-centered and culturally responsive education. Founded in 2009: The school grew out of the Philadelphia Freedom Schools movement, which began in 1999 to promote educational justice and community excellence.Core Philosophy: The school uses the traditional adage “each one / teach one” to build intergenerational learning communities.Guiding Values: Students and staff focus on servant leadership, conflict resolution, cultural democracy, and pride in their heritage. The term Sankofa is an Akan expression that is translated “Reach back to move forward”.

The Dada Rafiki Tri-County Graduate Chapter supported the community outreach community service event, "Black August Scholastic Black Book Fair" at the West Philly Peace Park on August 28, 2026. This event included reads with other black readers, book swaps, round robin corner, and more. The West Philly Peace Park is an open, charitable, intergenerational, neighborhood-managed ecology campus championing food, education and community. We also had the honor of Fellowshipping
with other sisters as well.
