Ready to earn your master’s degree in teaching online with a flexible schedule? Apply now for summer classes, which run from July 1 through August 3, 2026.

The University of Arkansas at Monticello School of Education offers two fully online master’s degrees for candidates seeking an Arkansas teaching license:

-Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT): The 100% online MAT is a 30‑hour accelerated program designed to prepare candidates for an Arkansas teaching license.

-Master of Arts in Teaching – Special Education (MAT SPED): The MAT SPED is a 36‑hour accelerated program preparing candidates for a special education teaching license.

Both are approved alternative teaching routes for candidates seeking an initial Arkansas teaching license.

Our dedicated faculty are here to support you on your path to becoming a licensed Arkansas teacher. If you hold a bachelor’s degree and want to earn $50,000 as a first‑year teacher, contact the UAM School of Education to learn more about the requirements.

To qualify for admission, candidates must hold an undergraduate degree in any field, meet program requirements and pass the Praxis Subject Test in their chosen content area.
